DEVELOPMENTS

THE POST HOUSE

The Post House was the former home of the Evening Post Newspaper in which in manufactured, printed and developed its newspaper titles. We then purchased upon it’s inoccupation and converted the space into office accommodation for various businesses throughout Swansea.

The site is now vacant and under development to create an 80+ Bedroom apart-hotel, alongside The Exchange Buildings, that sits adjacent to The Post House. The development will be an addition to The Morgans Collections hospitality portfolio within the Maritime Quarter. The project will create additional bedrooms to the city to help meet the demand that comes from a Colliers report, stating that the city will need 3 more hotels to meet demand by 2026.

DEVELOPMENTS

THE EXCHANGE BUILDINGS

The Exchange Buildings is a Grade II Listed building situated within the Maritime Quarter on the main thoroughfare into Swansea. Built in 1913-14, the building is one of very few in the area to survive the war, with it’s original use being that of the Swansea Exchange Buildings, hence it’s now name. The interior originally consisted of around 80 offices, a restaurant, banking and post office premises, lavatories, and automatic passenger lifts to serve all floors. The building cost an estimated £24,000 to build and was opened in 1916. Since it’s listing in 1987, it’s undergone many different uses, lastly being that off a solicitor’s office on the ground floor, whilst the Upper Floors were occupied by housing association, Caredig. However, most locals will remember the sport as “Dora’s” Nightclub, home to some of Swansea’s most famous nights.

With the development in our pipeline, we purchased the lease back from Caredig in August 2024, with the ground floor becoming unoccupied shortly after. The building is now under development for an 80+ Bedroom apart-hotel, alongside The Post House, that sits adjacent to the site. The development will be an addition to The Morgans Collections hospitality portfolio within the Maritime Quarter. The project will create additional bedrooms to the city to help meet the demand that comes from a Colliers report, stating that the city will need 3 more hotels to meet demand by 2026.

The building is also home to commercial space, with the Cosy Club exchanged to take occupation on the ground floor, with further commercial space available in both the basement and rooftop for a hopeful leisure provider.

DEVELOPMENTS

WHITEWALLS

The home to one of the UK's previous largest retailers, Topshop and Topman, 8-11 Whitewalls is located in the heart of our city centre.

We have submitted a pre-planning application to Swansea Council asking to turn the prominent retail unit, located on the corner of Oxford Street and Whitewalls, into 26 apartments and three separate retail units on the ground floor.

As the development continues, we are looking hopeful to encourage retail shopping in Swansea along with providing further city centre living, which is vital to the regeneration of the wider city centre development being done by the city council and other private developers.
