Pure Swansea brings first Padel courts to the city

Pure Swansea has launched Swansea’s first Padel venue with two double panoramic courts now available.

The development, that has just finished, was completed within 3 months from first meeting to final installation, and saw the site transform the previous dead space into state-of-the-art facilities for Europe’s fastest growing sport.

Padel tennis is a sort of cross between squash and tennis and is played by about 20 million people globally. The racket sport is typically played in doubles on a court roughly 25 per cent smaller than a tennis court.

Operations Director at Pure Swansea, Kurtis March, has commented on the development: "It is amazing to be able to bring the first padel courts to Swansea which is only going to enhance sport here in Swansea and South Wales in general.

"By opening this court, we have increased the offering in Wales from three to five courts which is a fantastic 66 per cent increase. We have the capacity to add a further three courts which we plan to do within the next 2 years.

"The six-figure investment has been privately funded by existing shareholders outlining our commitment to delivering first class grass root sporting facilities."

We look forward to seeing the increased awareness for the sport over the next couple of months, which will lead to a hopeful takeover of Padel in Swansea.
