The prominent city centre building, which has seen retailers struggle through it since the closing of all UK Topshop stores in 2020, has now become part of our development portfolio with our recent purchase of the building.
We plan to transform the building into three separate retail units, of which we already have national-level operators interested in, with further plans to submit a pre-planning application to Swansea Council asking to turn the prominent retail units Upper Floors, located on the corner of Oxford Street and Whitewalls, into 15 apartments for city centre living.
The upper floor conversion, will be vital to the regeneration of the wider city centre development, being undertaken by the City & County Council of Swansea and other private developers. We will be working with other local businesses to design a deliverable scheme that can be achieved to provide maximum output in a key city centre location.
This development is confirmation of Swansea.com’s commitment to continuing reinvesting in our city and surrounding areas, just as it has done for the last 30 years. The company is driven to continue its success in the city, encouraging new opportunities, creating jobs and expanding what Swansea has to offer.
