After repurchasing the brand back from TUI in 2004, Swansea.com have sold Travel House to Hays Travel in a multi-million-pound deal.
Travel House was established in 1992 and was later sold to Thomson Holidays in 1999 in which it was then repurchased from in 2004. Since the repurchase, Travel House has grown to 16 branches across South Wales and fought its way through Covid in which it lost millions. It has since remodelled its business strategy leading to a more productive and successful outcome.
Travel House has reached its peak success, turning over £1,000,000 a week through its retail and foreign exchange. This has led our decision to sell to the UK's largest agency, Hays Travel.
Swansea.com director, Jacob Hughes, has commented on the sale stating: “It has not been an easy decision, but the time is right to focus on other areas of our business. Having been a Hays Travel IG member for a couple of years now, we already feel part of the Hays family. There is no other organisation we would trust our team’s future with. We know they are in great hands with Dame Irene, Jonathon and the rest of Hays Travel. I wish them every success, from what will now be the sideline as a customer.”
Further comments made by Swansea.com owner and director Martin Morgan, shows him express that “Travel House will thrive under new ownership”. Explaining his reason for selling as “looking to invest in further new and exciting opportunities in the area”.
